Vivo Y38 5G 6000mAh Battery and Smooth Display at an Affordable Price
Just recently, Vivo, one of the leading smartphone brands in China, has launched its latest budget 5G smartphone; it’s called the Vivo Y38 5G. Of course, you can call it 5G sector and the main purpose of it is to make the next Generation Network more and more available to everyone, probably including you. This phone has got some good specs for the price, two selfie cams, a 6000mAh battery, 120Hz refresh rate, and 50MP triple cameras. It has strong points, but still, the question of the value is there against its price. To know what we have got in this fast-track review, wait a moment.
Design and Display
The Y38 5G Vivo model will have a rather simple shell or body cover made of plastic with the camera module arranged in a square shape at the back. To my slight disappointment, the construction quality may be just all right, but it is not exciting. This display sports a 6.5” LCD screen boasting of FHD+ resolution and 120Hz high refresh rate for crisp, smooth scrolling and graphics. To support that, this device also features a centered circular cutout that is hole-punched for the 8MP selfie camera. Something to point out from my point of view is that this monitor is nice to watch media and to play.
Internals and Software
Qualcomm new chipset Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is used as the brain of the Y38 5G. This energy efficient chip, which is manufactured using a 7 nm process technology, supports dual 5G SIMs. Your phone has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage as well. The phone ships with the android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 skin. It is likely to work well for the majority of everyday tasks and light entertainment purposes. As for bingeing on heavy games, we might do so unconsciously.
Cameras
Meanwhile, photography is enhanced by the Vivo Y38’s triple camera setup which includes a 50MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and additionally, a 2MP macro camera. In theory, the configuration of the camera is good and on the surface, the performance looks decent, but real-world performance must yet be tested in a proper setup to know whether it will live up to its claims. The device is capable of recording 1080p videos and has predefined modes such as night mode, portrait, panorama, live photo, slow motion, time lapse and pro mode which can all be customized as per requirement.
Battery and Pricing
The Vivo Y38 5G uses a large 6000mAh battery. This capacity can be considered to be impressive since the phone belongs to the budget devices category. This charger must, therefore, be able to conduct more than an entire day’s work on a single charge. Another advantage of this power bank is that fast charging for 18W is available too.
